See What You've Done!
You Helped Hands Launch 34 New School Libraries, Giving Over
8,510 Caribbean Children Access to New Amazing Books
Thanks to your loyal and caring support, you’ve made it possible for Hands to launch 34 new libraries on St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada, giving over 8,510 children, from Grade K through Grade 11, access to new amazing books and a lending library at their school. The 15,130 books we equipped these 34 school libraries with, as well as the 72,030 books we sent to other schools on Antigua, Dominica, and St. Kitts and Nevis, are only the start.
On every island, our team of Hands Literacy Links mentors school staff and helps them, using the Hands Across the Sea Library Manual, create or rejuvenate a child-friendly, sustainable lending library.
It is our pleasure to undertake this fulfilling work, and we have you, our loyal and generous Hands supporters, to thank. Your suggestions and words of encouragement help us do our work better every year. We love hearing from you on Facebook, we enjoy reading your e-mails and texts, we like talking with you on the phone or in person. Thank you for making this dream—that every child should grow up reading—come true for Hands and for children across the Caribbean.
